Our client is one of the world's leading metal recyclers, they play a pivotal role in the provision of sustainable materials across the globe. With a history spanning 70 years, they have grown from a single UK business to a multi-national corporation.
Challenge
Our client required a full warehouse refurbishment including stripping out and creating a wind turbine processing centre. As the first generation of the UK's wind turbines come to the end of their serviceable life, "Re-Rewind" aims to pioneer a sustainable, circular economy to recover and secure essential resources needed for the next generation of wind turbines.
Solution
As part of our renovation of the plant we have created a bespoke storage area for the first-generation wind turbines where they can safety be stored until the restoration starts in the wind turbine processing centre.
Impact
The overall project consisted of the following aspects – structural surveys conducted along with concrete core tests, new installation of rainwater pipes, new installation of point of use heater, intumescent painting of mezzanine area, steel plates fixed to mezzanine area, wielding carried out to secure balcony, roller shutter doors made safe and repaired. Electrical boards housed and bespoke customised cupboards.
Services
A full warehouse refurbishment from painting, plumbing, electrical works, signage, new roller doors and joinery. As part of our on-going partnership, we will be introducing carbon capture technology and providing on-going reports.
