Following the successful refurbishment of a 100-year-old warehouse at EMR’s South Street site in Glasgow, Solis transformed the underutilised building into a state-of-the-art wind turbine processing centre the first of its kind in Scotland. As operations within the new facility expanded, it became clear that additional office, meeting, and welfare spaces were required to support day-to-day management, host visiting clients and government representatives, and provide essential staff amenities.

DELIVERY

To meet these requirements, Solis designed and constructed a bespoke office and boardroom facility positioned on top of the existing mezzanine, overlooking the full processing floor.

The new structure features:

  • A large boardroom with seating capacity for 12 people.

  • An adjacent office for two full-time managers.

Solis delivered the complete design and build package, which included:

  • Structural foundations and partition walls

  • Full insulation and ceiling works

  • Air conditioning installation

  • Electrical, lighting, and power systems

  • Decoration, furnishing, and fit-out

Complementing the mezzanine build, a toilet block was designed and constructed directly below, featuring full drainage systems and both hot and cold water supplies.

IMPACT

The completed works enable EMR to fully utilise Scotland’s pioneering wind turbine processing centre. The new facilities provide professional, functional spaces for operations management and client engagement, supporting EMR’s role at the forefront of the UK’s renewable energy sector.

With this addition, EMR can now host global visitors and efficiently oversee processing activities, marking a significant step forward in sustainable industrial development.
