Solis Group

ESG strategy

As part of our commitment to combat climate change here at SOLIS Group we are looking to have a fully electric fleet by 2030 as currently in the UK transport accounts for 34% of UK emissions.

To support this transition, our technicians’ vans are fitted with driver efficiency trackers. These monitors promote eco-friendly driving habits, encouraging the use of higher gears and maintaining steady speeds, which reduces fuel consumption and lowers operating costs.

In response to the current energy challenges, we are also making our offices more energy efficient by installing sensor-activated lighting, using low-energy light bulbs, and ensuring all appliances are turned off when not in use. These initiatives support the shift to renewable energy and demonstrate SOLIS Group’s dedication to sustainable business practices.

We are committed to fully digitalising our operations

At SOLIS Group, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting sustainable business practices across all operations.

Water Efficiency and Conservation

The average water consumption per person in the UK is approximately 142 litres per day, with almost a third wasted due to inefficient plumbing, appliances, and habits. To reduce our office water usage, SOLIS Group has implemented practical measures, including:

  • Turning off taps and checking for leaks or drips

  • Only filling kettles with the required amount of water

  • Capturing rainwater for washing company vehicles

These small but impactful steps contribute to long-term water sustainability, aligning with the UK Water Efficiency Strategy 2030, which focuses on reducing water demand, promoting water reuse, and limiting leakage in properties.

Sustainable Supply Chains and Low-Carbon Operations

As part of our commitment to combat climate change, we prioritise suppliers who demonstrate low-energy consumption, low-carbon products, and sustainable practices. Preference is given to partners who actively reduce carbon emissions, water usage, waste, and packaging, including reusing materials and avoiding landfill.

Digitalisation and Circular Economy Practices

SOLIS Group is moving towards fully digital operations to reduce paper usage, encouraging digital invoices, reports, and communications. Our goal is to be completely paperless by 2026. Beyond reducing emissions, our climate-positive strategy focuses on removing more carbon from the atmosphere than we produce. By combining local sourcing, circular economy principles, and green logistics, we reduce emissions, support local economies, and promote sustainable growth.

Empowering Employees and Workplace Development

We believe that a culture of empowerment drives engagement, satisfaction, and performance. SOLIS Group encourages employees to develop their skills through:

  • External training, seminars, webinars, and networking

  • Contributing ideas and process improvements in monthly team meetings

  • Taking ownership of roles and professional growth

This culture ensures that employees are confident, motivated, and equipped to support business growth while driving innovation and efficiency.

Community Collaboration and Charitable Partnerships

Collaboration is a core value at SOLIS Group, and we actively partner with local charities to give back to the community. Our main partnership is with First Steps Future Training, a Glasgow-based charity providing apprenticeship and job opportunities for young people facing barriers to traditional employment.
